A lot of people would like to breed a foal for future riding and rear it themselves for self satisfaction. Whatever the reason, this means buying a suitable mare; a costly exercise on its own, then the stud fees, vet fees, feeding costs, disappointment if breeding is unsuccessful: the stakes are high, and there is no guarantee of a healthy foal.
We offer the opportunity to get that foal - from a quality mare with a proven history - with no unforeseen expenses, on a term payment contract that gives you a healthy, weaned foal which is halter broken, ready to be enjoyed and all paid for by the time you collect it. The cost is a fraction of supplying your own mare.
There is no handling fee and no vet bills; these are all covered by the stud for the duration up to weaning.
The mare may NOT leave the stud's care, but she is available for inspection by the lessee on appointment. Some mares may be shown, and will be done so without approval from the lessee, but all care is taken for the best interests of the mare's pregnancy.
Where possible all the mares are ridden to give them a sense of adventure and prevent boredom; we have found this to produce total harmony within their lives.
